SuperPod 3 will be an online podcast festival to raise money for Comic Relief.
The SuperPod charity event returns for 2021 and will take place the weekend prior to Red Nose Day, on Saturday 13th March 2021, with the event being hosted wholly online for the first time. The jam-packed event will take place on just one day, with 16 podcasts taking part. The event will be livestreamed on Facebook, Periscope, Twitch & YouTube as well as on internet radio station The Bear.
Podcaster Al Galpin is the organiser of the event. Back in 2017 he organised the first Superpod, a 36 hour non-stop live broadcast from the Grand Harbour Hotel that raised over £1,000 for Comic Relief, following that success with a 2-day festival at The Social in March 2020 for Sport Relief.
“We’re excited to be once again aiming to raise lots of money for Comic Relief. The current situation may mean we are unable to hold the event in-person as in previous years, however it also gives us the opportunity to bring in other podcasters who may not otherwise have been able to take part.”
So far the event has as announced appearances from podcasts such as Never A Straight Answer, Cold Callers Comedy, Cooking With Grief, Release The Clowns and more. Galpin hopes to announce even more shows soon, with the full schedule to be confirmed in due course.
