After the success of the first SuperPod we decided we just had to do it again! It took a while to come up with a plan (I blame having a baby) but we are now confirmed to be broadcasting from The Social in Southampton on 7th/8th March 2020, the weekend prior to Sport Relief.
SuperPod 2020 will be a 2 day podcast festival and will have a sporting twist, in line with the charity we’re raising money for, but will also feature comedy shows and sporting versions of some of the shows that appeared back in 2017.
We have confirmed appearances from old friends The Dredgeland Podcast Spectacular, Legend in My Sparetime and The AhhGee Podcast. Ministry of Swooping (the spiritual successor to Dead Piett Society), Due South by South East & The Doctor Squee Show (both from the host of Gallifrey Stands) will be appearing too.
Joining these familiar voices will be sports related shows SportSpiel, First & Ten, Anything But Footy and Football Book Club. Plus other great shows such as The Movie Bunker Podcast, How Not To Be An Idiot, Unclassical and What’s Your Favourite?
Plus there’s our headline acts. On Saturday it will be an as yet unconfirmed headliner, supported by SportSpiel with guest Hannah Diamond. And on Sunday it will be Life Goals with Theo Delaney with guest Carl Anka, supported by Dredgeland.
For full details of the lineup check the Schedule page.
Hi, I’m Al, the man behind this whole nonsense. I am the host of the Ministry of Swooping: a Fake News Podcast, and formerly hosted the Dead Piett Society Podcast.
As well as podcasting I’m also a keen football, baseball and wrestling fan. I’m keen on comics, country music and chocolate as well as burgers, bunnies and bourbon. And apparently alliteration. I’m a husband to Kitty, dad to Hunter and a Pointless finalist.
I first came up with the idea of the SuperPod in late 2016 after listening to a 24 hour charity podcast. I organised the SuperPod in 2017 and I want to make SuperPod 2020 an even bigger and better event, raising even more money than last time.
